Mentorship

When you think about the word mentorship, what comes to mind? Maybe a particular teacher who taught your favorite subject and, in turn, has shaped your plan(s) for the future? Or perhaps a friend or someone who you go to for advice? However you define mentorship, we can all agree that it is a necessity! In fact, there’s a famous African proverb that goes, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Here at GASO, we define mentorship as an act of service where we work together to positively impact the lives of others. Together, we are raising the next generation of African scholars!
